Simple Habits for Umbrella Care
A few simple habits can help keep your umbrella in good condition. Always follow any care instructions supplied with your particular model.
Let It Dry After Use
After using it in rain, leave the umbrella open to air-dry somewhere safe and well ventilated. Avoid putting it away wet for long periods, and keep it away from radiators or other direct heat sources.
Fold and Store It Carefully
Once it’s dry, fold the fabric gently and fasten the strap without pulling it too tightly. Use its sleeve or pouch if one is supplied, and store it where the frame won’t be crushed or bent.
Don’t Force the Mechanism
Open and close the mechanism as instructed. If it sticks, stop rather than forcing it. Check for trapped fabric or visible damage, and contact us if you need help with a model bought from our store.
Clean According to the Manufacturer’s Guidance
For light cleaning, use a soft damp cloth. Check the manufacturer’s guidance before using detergents, waterproofing sprays or other treatments.
Check for Damage
Inspect the canopy, ribs and mechanism occasionally. Avoid trying to straighten damaged ribs or glue parts without suitable repair advice. If the umbrella no longer opens reliably or has exposed broken parts, stop using it.
